Description
In the wake of the coronavirus, travel is possible again. But school drop-offs shouldn't be the only epic adventures you tackle with your kids. Pete and Bridget Helliar have spent years travelling around Australia and overseas with their three boys, and they want to encourage parents with young children to travel too. Right now. Trippin' with Kids is your (totally legal and not-at-all hallucinogenic) entry to the happy rainbow of travel experiences parents can enjoy with their kids, from babies to teens. Packed with Pete and Brij's tips and tricks for how to plan, organise and execute a great family holiday - whether it's a weekend camping trip or a month-long trip to Europe - there are also detailed destination guides to some of their favourite holiday destinations including New Zealand and, yes, South Australia. Learn some fool-proof packing methods, ways to keep costs down and general tips on how to maintain both your sanity and sense of humour, and find all of the best kid-friendly attractions without resorting to a pricey play centre. This book will help you discover (and rediscover) places around Australia and the world, just like you did before you had kids.
Author Biography
Peter Helliar is one of Australia's favourite comedians. Since first appearing on Rove Live in the late '90s, Helliar's extraordinary entertainment and comedy career has spanned everything from radio to screenwriting, producing and co-starring in feature films (I Love You Too) and television series (It's a Date, How To Stay Married). Pete lives in Melbourne with his wife (and co-author) and three kids, and currently co-hosts the award-winning news and current affairs program The Project on Network Ten. He is also the best-selling author of the Frankie Fish series for children. Bridget Helliar has spent much of her life planning trips, going on trips and then repeating those two steps again and again. Determined not to allow motherhood and marriage to stop her from travelling, Bridget first pitched the idea for this book during a family trip to France in 2010. As usual, it took her husband a long time to recognise what a brilliant idea it was. Bridget's favourite travel destinations include France, Japan and the Mornington Peninsula. She once lost her bikini top jumping off a yacht in the Greek Islands and is eternally grateful this occurred before the advent of the iPhone.
