Description
What makes some people more likely to initiate positive change within their organizations? Can this behaviour be influenced by management? Employee proactivity has largely been understood in terms employees changing their environment or changing themselves. In this novel study Wu offers an alternative lens through which to examine such behaviour - the concept of attachment theory. Wu integrates the current understanding of motivational factors in shaping proactive workers, through his introduction to attachment theory, and development of it as a theoretical framework.

This book will stimulate theorising for organisational researchers and will provide valuable insights for managers and employers to help them cultivate a more confident, active and innovative workforce.''-- "Sharon Parker, Curtin University" "Grounded in attachment theory, Dr. Wu explains why some employees are more proactive than others and how managers or organizations can foster employees' proactivity from adevelopmental perspective. This book is thought-provoking and well-grounded in academic evidence. It tells us that proactivity does not stand alone but is rooted in caring and supportive relationships."-- "George Z. X.
