Description
Robert C. O'Brien's collection of essays on U.S. national security and foreign policy, with a forward by Hugh Hewitt, is a wake up call to the American people. The world has become steadily more dangerous under President Obama's "lead from behind" foreign policy. The Obama Administration's foreign policy has emboldened our adversaries and disheartened our allies. Indeed, Obama's nuclear deal with Iran is a 1938 moment. At the same time, the U.S. military has been cut and risks returning to the hollow force days of the 1970s. O'Brien lays out the challenges and provides the common sense "peace through strength" solutions that will allow the next president to make America great again.
Author Biography
Robert C. O'Brien served as National Security Advisor from 2019 to 2021, bringing a renewed focus on defense and industrial base issues to the National Security Council. He is a longtime advocate of sea power and a 355-ship Navy. During O'Brien's time in office, the United States orchestrated the historic Abraham Accords in the Middle East, brokered economic normalization between Serbia and Kosovo, achieved significant defense spending increases among our NATO partners, and enhanced cooperation with our allies across the Indo-Pacific. O'Brien previously served in numerous senior government positions, including Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs with the rank of ambassador. One of America's leading lawyers, he holds a J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law and received his B.A. in political science, cum laude, from UCLA.
