Issues in Modern Foreign Languages Teaching

This text draws together a range of issues in the teaching of modern foreign languages into one volume. Building on their learning about the teaching of MFL (modern foreign languages) in ITT courses, the book encourages students and newly qualified teachers to consider and reflect on the issues so that they can make a reasoned and informed judgement about their teaching of MFL. Relevant for both primary and secondary level, the book looks at key issues and areas such as: issues not considered in detail on primary and secondary ITT courses in England and Wales due to time constraints; the dearth of information which identifies and addresses such issues; and the importance of MFL teaching issues and how they are considered by students and teachers to prepare for the wider demands of teaching.
