Alan L Ellis is currently Co-chair of the Harvey Milk Institute in San Francisco, the largest community-based queer studies programme in the world. His previous books include Sexual Identity on the Job, A Family and Friend's Guide to Sexual Orientation, and A Manager's Guide to Sexual Orientation.
