Description

The Sexual Theologian is the first collection of essays on radical sexual theology written by a group of internationally renowned scholars in this area. For the first time Queer theory and theology is articulated around themes from systematic theology such as Incarnation, death, the concept of God, Mariology, together with discussions on sexuality and mysticism. The essays show a "how to do" a radical sexual theology together with original, bold and transgressive thinking which have taken feminist theologies to a new dimension of action and reflection.

Reviews

"The Sexual Theologian, the premier title in T & T Clark's Queering Theology Series, is the first focused attempt to apply to systematic theology the analytical tools of 'queer theory...The essays contained herein offer queer readings of such figures as Aelred of Rievaulx and Margery Kempe, as well as discussions of death, incarnation, natural law, and more, all approached from the perspective of queer theory...food for thought." G. L. Heythrop Journal 'the interesting essays when combined...introduce the reader to a challenging lens through which to interpret theology.' ~ Philomena Cullen, Theological Book Review, Vol 18, No. 1, 2006 -- Philomena Cullen * Theological Book Review * 'This rich collection of essays is the perfect introduction to queer theology for students and interested general readers.' '...new, exciting, original and potentially body-shifting scholarship.' - Mary E. Hunt, Theology -- Mary E. Hunt * Theology *
