Description
Black Icons in Herstory is the follow-up book to Icons: 50 Heroines Who Shaped Contemporary Culture by Monica Ahanonu. Following the same design and format, this title features 50 of the most admired Black women in the fields of music, politics, human rights, fashion, art, film, sports, and more, accompanied by short biographies on each of them. Featuring a bold colourful cover, this book includes inspiring women such as Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Amanda Gorman, Ava DuVernay, and many more. Ahanonu's illustrated portraits are both easily recognisable and an artistic take on each of the featured women's likenesses and identities.
