Description
Pete Greig has been teaching on prayer - and leading a non-stop prayer movement - for twenty years. Now, for the first time, he puts his life's work into a simple book written for everybody - an answer to the question everyone ultimately asks: how do I pray? This down-to-earth introduction to prayer will guide you deeper in your relationship with God - making you more centred, more aware of God's voice, more likely to see breakthroughs and more able to make sense of your unanswered prayers, too. It's full of honest, hard-won wisdom interspersed with real-life stories - some humorous, others moving - to equip and inspire your prayer life. Journeying through the Lord's Prayer, and accompanied by online videos and discussion starters, it unpacks nine important themes: stillness, adoration, petition, intercession, perseverance, contemplation, listening, confession and spiritual warfare. From one of today's most gifted and visionary communicators, for those who've been praying for years as well as those who want to pray but don't know where to begin, HOW TO PRAY is the simple, inspiring guide you've been waiting for.

ReviewsIt is a true delight throughout and an immensely helpful one too. Already I have experienced it refreshing and reinvigorating my own prayer life. * The Methodist Recorder * Pete Greig is a gift to the world. This book uses the revolutionary prayer of Jesus as a grounded guide to ignite our spirits to the heart of God. As you read these pages let these words infuse you with a holy desire for God's kingdom come! * Danielle Strickland * Is there anything more primal than prayer? We reach out to God, and we hope God is reaching out to us in return. Pete Greig is unwilling to surrender this basic human impulse to any of the cultured complexities that we tend to build up around it. With How to Pray he helps us enter into a habit of prayer that is as life-giving as it is simple. * Ian Morgan Cron * The simplicity, clarity, and depth Pete talks about prayer is remarkable. Whatever barriers you're facing when it comes to a vibrant prayer life, this book will help you move beyond them and walk in a richer relationship with Christ. * Margaret Feinberg * In a get-fixed-quick kind of world, Pete Grieg meets us with the kind of guidance that's both immediately accessible and deeply thoughtful. For everyone who's wondered how to move the experience of prayer from distant to personal and powerful, How to Pray provides a starting point for the new and seasoned believer alike. * Nicole Unice * What I appreciate most about How to Pray is how it pulses with faith and hope. Pete has lived a life of prayer for decades, and it shows. * Woman Alive * This book will inspire you that prayer is not a chore, a wish list or a tick box exercise, but rather a vibrant, exciting, and essential tenet for a life of faith. * Presbyterian Herald *
