In this commentary, Ruth Anne Reese offers a multi-disciplinary study of 1 Peter that builds on contemporary scholarship and research methods. She explores the relationship of the letter to the Old Testament, as reflected in the themes of exodus, exile, suffering, and glory. Ruth Reese is Beeson Chair of Biblical Studies and Professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary. She is the author of Writing Jude: The Reader, the Text, and the Author in Constructs of Power and Desire and 2 Peter and Jude.
