Description
The Prix Pictet is the leading global award in photography and sustainability. In addition to the global exhibition tour that accompanies each cycle of the prize, the Prix Pictet produces a high-quality photo book featuring the work of the shortlisted artists together with images from the wider pool of nominated photographers. This special 2022 edition of the Prix Pictet publication aims to empower contemporary female photographers, exploring how they address issues of sustainability through their work with a special focus on the intersectional relationship between gender inequality and the most urgent environmental and social problems facing the planet today. It will showcase the recent work on the theme of sustainability of up to 60 female photographers who have been shortlisted or nominated for the prize. These images will be edited by guest editor, Fiona Shields, Head of Photography at the Guardian.
