Description

Starting with an empty white frame, renowned photographer Magnus Hastings invites members of the LGBTQIA+ community to creatively envision the space and present themselves as they would like to be seen. These vibrant portraits - funny, political, personal, racy, magical, and matter-of-fact - together celebrate the expanding spectrum of queer identity and visibility. Featuring more than 300 images, the book also includes a number of short, moving statements by some of the subjects about who they are, and what that means. Proud, playful, defiant, and diverse, the empowering images and individuals in this beautiful volume represent the strength of knowing and expressing who we are.

Reviews

"A personal, political, funny, racy, and magical work of art." -Out "When Magnus Hastings set out to photograph over 300 members of the LGBTQ community, he gave them this challenge: They could pose for their portraits however they liked, but their poses had to be contained in a white box. The resulting photographs are an exuberant exercise in creativity and taking up space, sure to enliven your coffee table." -Esquire Holiday Gift Pick"Celebrity photographer Magnus Hastings invites over 300 different members of the LGBTQIA+ community - including plenty of RuPaul's Drag Race alumna - to pose for a portrait.
