Glen Friedman is one of the most important photographers of his generation. Friedman has a dedicated fan base with over 106 thousand followers on Instagram,. Friedman has had major solo exhibitions of his work in major cities across the US, and his work is held at the MET, the Smithsonian, Berkeley Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Morgan Library & Museum, Stanford University, NY Public Library, UCLA, Emory University, Cornell University, Wolfsonian-FIU; and the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research (Cambridge, MA) Friedman has collaborated with the artist Shepard Fairey. Friedman has photographed numerous celebrities over the years in both the music and skateboarding worlds, including the Beastie Boys, Fugazi, Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy, Bad Brains, etc. The book includes commentary from Ralph Nader, Reverend Al Sharpton, Ian MacKaye, Cornel West, and Ian F. Author Biography
Glen E. Friedman, one of the most important photographers of his generation, is known for his influential and iconic images of rebellious artists from classic skateboarding, punk, and hip-hop cultures. As a true artist his process was much more incendiary than it was documentary. Friedman, first published at the age of fourteen, has produced over a hundred record covers, countless magazine pages, and almost a dozen books, including DogTown: The Legend of the Z-Boys, Keep Your Eyes Open, and Recognize. His work is now included in a number of notable international collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution
