Description
The Baby Bible was first published in 2006, written by new mum Sarah Toulmin as a way of sharing the stories she so loved with her own little ones. Her ultra simple retellings of 20 favourite stories, from Creation to the Resurrection, are filled with a sense of wonder and expressing God's love for creation, and combine with Kristina Stephenson's heartwarming illustrations to offer lots to look at and point to on the page to create the perfect focus for parent and child when sharing this delightful book together. The Baby Bible is now available in a small format gift edition with a blue padded cover just for little boys; a perfect starter Bible to share with a much-loved child.
Author Biography
Sarah Toulmin studied for a degree in English at Oxford University. Her career has included teaching, publicity and missionary work in India, Uganda and South Africa. Now a mother to two children, Sarah first started writing when pregnant with her first child, who was the inspiration - and critic! - for the Baby Bible. Kristina Stephenson trained as a set and costume designer and for many years she worked in theatre and television while dreaming of having children and illustrating books for them. Both dreams came true and Kristina now lives and works in Salisbury with her musician husband and two children who provide all the humour and inspiration anyone could want.
Reviews""There are several reasons why Sarah Toulmin's" Baby Bible "will be a resounding success. Firstly, it looks the part, with pictures from renowned illustrator Kristina Stephenson adding extra depth and warmth to the characters. Secondly, its narrative of bite-sized Bible chunks makes it easily digestible for children of a young age."
