Author Biography

Sue Ganz-Schmitt lives in a rural mountain community near Los Angeles with her two daughters and husband. She produces children's musical theater and has sung on Broadway. Passionate about helping children and families globally, she co- founded an AIDS orphanage in Haiti, traveled to China to help medically challenged orphans, and set up a birthing clinic in rural India. A two time Annie Award winner for his design of the films Coraline and The Croods, Shane has also contributed his multiple talents to such projects as The LEGO Movie, The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, The Iron Giant, and the Spaceheadz book series, written by Jon Scieszka. In 2014, the Society of Illustrators chose Planet Kindergarten to be represented at their Original Art show at the Museum of American Illustration, recognizing the top children's book illustration of the year. Shane is currently the vice president of creative affairs at Disney Television Animation, and resides in Los Angeles, California, with his wife and two children.
