Author Biography

Kerry was widowed at age 32 when her husband was misdiagnosed while overseas. She is the author of The One Thing: 100 Widows Share Lessons on Love, Loss, and Life, a guide for young widows - told from the vantage point of those who lived it. In 2018, the book was included in the National Bereavement Resource Guide, a list compiled by New York Life and Eluna Network.Kerry is the founder of Young, Widowed & Dating, an online support group providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental forum for the widowed community. She is a blogger for Open to Hope, whose mission is to help people find hope after the death of a loved one. Previously, she was a contributor for HuffPost, covering loss and grieving, and the Hope for Widows Foundation, a nonprofit organization which provides peer-to-peer support.
