Description
This book will show you how to run problem-solving group therapy sessions. It focuses on practical tech niques rather than theory. The problem-solving group format does several things. It rapidly establishes an effective group atmosphere that allows individual group members to work on different issues in the same session using a series of standard group process procedures. The standard format is designed to help the therapist track the implementation and completion of treatment techniques. It targets specif ic problems, clearly defines treatment goals, and identifies specific time-limited interventions . Group members assume a high degree of ownership and responsibility for solving their own problems in collaboration with the group leader who guides them through a systematic problem-solving process.
