Author Biography

Laura Krauss Melmed is the bestselling author of children's books that include Capital!: Washington D.C. from A to Z, I Love You as Much . . ., and New York, New York!: The Big Apple from A to Z. She is the recipient of the American Library Association Notable Award, the National Jewish Book Award, the Oppenheim Gold Award, and the Parent's Choice Award, and she is a former president of the Children's Book Guild. She lives in Washington, DC. Violet Lemay is an award-winning author and illustrator whose children's books include 100 Pablo Picassos, My Foodie ABC, Artists and Their Pets, and the Local Baby series, which includes New York Baby and Beach Babies. Violet worked as a professor of illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia. Violet's illustrations have been published by Penguin, Holt, HarperCollins, McGraw-Hill, Scholastic, and Highlights magazine. Violet currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
