Author Biography
Margaret Hamilton AM ran Margaret Hamilton Books for almost ten years, an internationally successful company with a reputation for high quality children's books, which she began with her husband Max. Her Order of Australia Medal (2008) was 'for service to the arts through the promotion of children's literature and literacy and through support for authors and illustrators'. Margaret's passion and recognition for wider promotion of picture books led her to found the Children's Book Cottage at Blackheath, Pinerolo, in 2010. She is currently Deputy National Chair for the Children's Book Council of Australia. Her first picture book B is for Bedtime (2014) was a CBCA Notable Book and her second, Counting Through the Day, was launched at the CBCA National Conference in May 2016. Award-winning and best-selling author and illustrator, Anna Pignataro, has created more than fifty books for children. Her most popular picture books have had international success and are published in seventeen countries and enjoyed in eleven different languages. Her work always evolving, Anna is also the author of a junior fiction series and has a diverse and quirky range of greeting cards. Through her work Anna hopes to connect with children and encourage children to follow their hearts, to be inspired by the natural world and their dreams and to always believe that anything is possible. Anna lives with her husband and daughter near the beach in Melbourne, Australia. Her home is often visited by a family of ducks and a very special blackbird.
