Author Biography

Lydia Monks is one of the best-loved illustrators of her generation. She is the illustrator of the phenomenally successful What The Ladybird Heard with Julia Donaldson and has written and illustrated several picture books for Egmont, including Aaaaarrrgghh, Spider! Eek Mouse! No More EEE-Orrgh!, Ooo, Ooo, Ooo Gorilla! and Babbit. Lydia lives in Sheffield with her husband and two daughters. Her favourite subjects at school were Art, English and R.E. before she went on to achieve a First Class degree in Illustration at Kingston University. At the weekend she wins trophies in Irish dancing, goes to aerobics, watches films and visits friends. Her favourite food is ice cream.
