Description
The Big Steps series is designed to help little ones cope with everyday experiences and important milestones. In No More Tantrums, meet a (usually) adorable toddler who is having a very, VERY angry day, and see how she manages her cross feelings with the help of her family. Follow the ups and (melt)downs of Mabel's trip to the park, brought to life with fun flaps and mechanisms. Each page has helpful tips for parents and carers that are endorsed by The Good Play Guide and leading Early Years Consultant, Dr Amanda Gummer. With delightful illustrations from Marie Kyprianou, No More Tantrums is a brilliant way to explore your little one's frustrated feelings, and methods of managing them, in a fun and relatable way. For more toddler tips, check out other books in the Big Steps series such as I Can Wash My Hands, No More Dummies and I'm Starting Nursery.
Author Biography
Marie Kyprianou studied Plastic Arts and Modern Literature at the University of Avignon (south of France) before becoming an illustrator. Her additions to Campbell's bestselling Big Steps series, Let's Wash Our Hands and No More Dummies, are her first books for Campbell Books. Dr Amanda Gummer is a research psychologist specializing in child development, with over twenty years experience working with children and families. She has set up three organizations - Fundamentally Children, FUNdamentals and the Good Toy Guide Ltd - all of which promote the value of play and positive parenting in child development.
ReviewsThe Big Steps books are a great way of introducing children to different life skills and building their confidence and familiarity with doing them. Watching characters their own age experience different things goes a long way in letting children know that they are normal, healthy and not scary. The children enjoyed pointing to the different pictures, opening flaps and naming objects, which is fantastic for helping to build their vocabulary and prepare them for learning to read. The book is also sturdy enough for enthusiastic hands. Our testers found the little tips at the bottom of the page useful and in one case, they helped to transform a reluctant dresser into someone who is happy to get dressed most mornings! * Dr Gummer's Good Play Guide * Engaging, interactive, fun and full of bright colours and bold illustrations which are hugely visually appealing to toddlers. -- Mini Travellers
