Description
Different types of families make the world a brighter place From the creators of Two Dads in London, Richard and Lewis Edwards-Middleton, comes their debut picture book. My Family and Other Families is a heartwarming tale about friends, family and Ferris wheels, and shows a world where different families are equal. Liam has just one thing on his mind- making it to the ferris wheel to use his ticket. His friends are also there playing games, munching popcorn, and going on rides with their families. But when Liam's ticket goes missing, it's a race against time to find it. If everyone helps, maybe they can find it! With beautifully vibrant illustrations from Andy Passchier, this story shows children that it is wonderfully normal for every family to be different.
Author Biography
Richard and Lewis are a married couple living in London with their two kids, aged six and three. They became a family through adoption, making them a two Dad family, which they have shared on their Two Dads in London blog (https-//twodadsinlondon.com/) and Instagram. Seeing how much their children enjoy and learn through story time inspired them to write a fun, imaginative picture book with an important message behind it- that every family is different and that is perfectly okay. Andy Passchier is an illustrator from The Netherlands, currently living in the USA. In their work, they try to focus on inclusivity, positivity and LGBTQIA+ advocacy. They have previously illustrated several children's books focusing on identity and the LGBTQIA+ community, including Rainbow- A First Book of Pride by Michael Genhart, Trans+- Love, Sex, Romance, and Being You by Karen Rayne, PhD, and Katherine Gonzales, MBA, What Are Your Words? by Katherine Locke, and Being You by Megan Madison and Jessica Ralli.
