Author Biography
Jerrold E. Hogle (Foreword; Ph. D., Harvard University) is Professor Emeritus of English and University Distinguished Professor at the University of Arizona in the USA. The winner of Guggenheim, Mellon and other fellowships for research - and the Distinguished Scholar Award from the Keats-Shelley Association of America - he has published extensively on English Romantic literature, literary theory and the Gothic. His books include Shelley's Process from Oxford UP; The Undergrounds of The Phantom of the Opera from Palgrave Macmillan; The Cambridge Companion to Gothic Fiction from the Cambridge UP; its follow-up volume, The Cambridge Companion to the Modern Gothic, co-edited with Robert Miles, for the Edinburgh Companions to the Gothic series. Created and developed at Flame Tree Publishing, independent publisher and creator of fine books, journals, notebooks and art calendars, with a focus on myths, gothic fantasy and great works.
