Reviews'Set in the sixth century,Flavius Belisarius is the 15-year-old son of centurion Decimus Belisarius, the governor of the city of Dorostorum. But when his father and three brothers are killed, Flavius discovers that they were betrayed. He flees the city with Ohannes, his father's trusted servant, and begins a journey that takes him into enemy territory, the Roman army, and the great city of Constantinople. A fast-paced novel to introduce the trilogy, this book covers Flavius' early life, and further volumes will no doubt see him mature and grow, which, upon reading this first book, is a mouth-watering prospect' Aberdeen Press and Journal
