Description
Lucy Stone is excited to join her friend Sue at Moreton Manor, home to the Earl of Wickham. She's there to enjoy the "Heads Up!" hat exhibition and have a taste of the English aristocratic lifestyle, but her peaceful holiday is shattered when a person who's been bludgeoned to death is found in a hidden, sealed-off room . . . Was the victim trying to make off with the family riches? And can an amateur detective from small-town America ever get to the bottom of this very English mystery? Lucy puts her sleuthing skills to the test. This wonderfully fun and cozy mystery from New York Times bestseller Leslie Meier is a delight from start to finish."Counts, countesses, and corpses highlight Lucy Stone's trip across the pond." -Kirkus Reviews"I like Lucy Stone a lot, and so will readers." -Carolyn Hart"Leslie Meier writes with sparkle and warmth." -Chicago Sun Times"The Lucy Stone mysteries will appeal to fans of domestic mysteries." -Booklist"Mothers everywhere will identify with Lucy Stone and the domestic problems she encounters." -Publishers Weekly
Author Biography
Leslie Meier is the author of over twenty Lucy Stone mysteries. Her books are inspired by her own family life - she has three children - and she worked as a reporter for a number of local newspapers near her home in Cape Cod, USA. As Leslie's own children have grown up, so have Lucy's, and Leslie has a keen eye for the day-to-day life of small-town America. Perceptive and cleverly plotted, her books never fail to entertain.
