Nov 06 Save a fortune by choosing great colour schemes before buying quilting and patchwork fabric with this helpful book...A hundred different classic American block patterns are shown in each of seven different colourways demonstrating a huge range of optical effects. By varying the colours between subtle and contrasting shades Celia demonstrates how to completely change the appearance of a block and emphasise different sections of the design. The book includes a good guide to basic colour theory and explains the principles of using a colour wheel to select different combinations. The patterns are grouped into colour themes of harmonious, complementary, saturated, tints and shades with each pattern being accompanied by a description explaining how the selected colours interact together. A diagram template shows the individual pieces of a block irrespective of colour. The book is in a handy spiral bound format making it easy for the reader to flick through and spot designs that have instant appeal.
