Description

Woven bracelets are great to wear and to share! Learn the Japanese technique of kumihimo ("gathered thread") and weave colorful cord into beautiful bracelets! This kit includes enough cord to make two bracelets-one to keep and one to give to a friend. The 64-page instruction book offers 15 different patterns to weave multiple strands of cord on the kumihimo disk, creating some beautiful keepsakes and gifts. Leather or embroidery thread works just as well for more durable or delicate pieces. Once you've mastered the technique, bracelets will be just the beginning of your weaving adventures!

Author Biography

Kathy Janz was born in Brisbane, Australia, but early in her childhood, she moved with her family to the Netherlands. After studying at the University of Amsterdam, she made her career in marketing. Kathy's love of handicrafts never left her, however, and once her three children were grown she decided to start a business of her own. She now sells her handmade jewelry in her online shop, Kayee Design, and through her Etsy shop, Kayeedesign. Kathy is delighted to share her patterns for friendship bracelets and to introduce readers to the wonderful world of kumihimo, a traditional Japanese form of braid-making.
