Description

The first book from art dealer turned Atlanta interior designer Beth Webb, known for her carefully layered, elegantly collected interiors. From a 'rustique chic' lake house to a stately Greenwich manor, Beth Webb's interiors demonstrate her remarkable range and her consistently superlative standards for beauty, while retaining a commercial approachability that is reminiscent of The Welcoming House.

Author Biography

Beth Webb has a penchant for great art, beautiful proportions, and comfortable, yet luxurious touches. With a background in art history, culminating in a Master's Degree from the Sotheby's Works of Art Course in London, Webb came to the word of interior design via her first career as an art dealer. She has been president and CEO of Beth Webb Interiors for more than twenty years.

Reviews

"Although the overall design of a room is important, Webb explains that for her, the real beauty is found in the details. And her book reflects that philosophy, with time and space dedicated to an arrangement of peonies or the embroidery on a billow 'to bring people into the emotionality of the book.'" -Southern Home " '-...She had a huge library, she painted, her husband painted...,' recounts the Atlanta-based designer, whose upcoming book Beth Webb: An Eye for Beauty: Rooms That Speak to the Senses (Rizzoli, September 2017) details this whole home and others from her portfolio." -Architectural Digest "Best Books" -MarkDSikes.com "Atlanta designer Beth Webb achieves a harmonious balance between comfort and elegance with her approach to gracious living." -Southern Lady "Webb's interiors reflect the sure hand and sharp eye of someone who understands form, line, color, and balance. The serene sanctuaries she creates have an effortless feel that should not be mistaken for a decorator on autopilot." -Flower Magazine "We use them in media rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, mudrooms and foyers," said Beth Webb, an Atlanta-based interior designer whose book "An Eye for Beauty: Rooms That Speak to the Senses" (Rizzoli) is out this September. "It's one of the most versatile pieces in our arsenal." -The New York Times "Webb focuses on all the senses to create an experience for her homeowners that makes them feel content and nourished in their homes. And that is evident on every page." -Design Chic "Drawing on her background in fine arts, she explains how color, texture and a variety of visual moments can impact the design of the room, but ultimately the design should reflect the owners and their lifestyle." -EditorAtLarge.com "Beth Webb: An Eye For Beauty is Atlanta based designer Beth Webb's first book (oh, Beth, let thy beautiful eye create many more!) which features the most sumptuously beautiful and comforting spaces with traditional decor you can imagine." -Hello Lovely "Beth Webb's unique approach to home decor will have you seeing your space in a whole new way-think all five senses of sight, touch, scent, hearing, and taste. Sounds weird? Maybe, but that's what makes it oh-so special." -Domino "Beth Webb's book is filled with so many appealing images that showcase her take on utilizing space in a home and creating and designing rooms that are appealing to the senses. Beth fosters a strong belief in the old-fashioned cliche that "less is more" and refers to having a balance of "the precious and the practical" for everyday living." -Charming Chelsey "On My Bookshelf: Fall Must-Haves" -La Dolce Vita Blog
