Description

Jim Marshall's 2004 book "Proof" quickly gained classic status in the years since its original publication. And its easy to see why - it offers a rare glimpse at the creative process of one of the world's great rock and roll photographers, reproducing more than sixty proof sheets and the accompanying hero shots from each. A photography book like no other, "Proof" provides access to great unseen pictures, as well as insight into Marshal's legendary shots of musicians from the 1960s to the present day. And now, to commemorate the 40-year anniversary of Woodstock, comes the "Proof Special Edition". This deluxe edition features an original signed and numbered 8 x 10 gelatin-silver print beautifully presented in a cloth clamshell case with a signed copy of the now-classic book. This package truly does justice to the mastery of Marshal's craft, and will delight and inspire collectors of fine books, photography, and rock and roll ephemera alike.

Author Biography

Jim Marshall has worked most of his career in the music business doing magazine and editorial work, publicity, documentary, photography, and album/CD covers. He was one of the chief photographers at the Monterey Pop Festival and at the original Woodstock, the only photographer granted backstage access at the Beatles' last concert, and the only person ever to squeeze Janis Joplin and Grace Slick into a single frame. Marshall has more than five hundred album and CD covers to his credit. His work has been published worldwide and is included in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian.
