Author Biography

JOHN MOORE is a special correspondent for GettyImages. He has photographed in 65 countrieson six continents and was posted internationallyfor 17 years, first to Nicaragua, then India, SouthAfrica, Mexico, Egypt, and Pakistan. He returnedto the U.S. in 2008. Moore has won top awardsthroughout his career, including the 2005 PulitzerPrize for Breaking News Photography, World PressPhoto honors, the John Faber Award and theRobert Capa Gold Medal from the Overseas PressClub, Photographer of the Year from Pictures ofthe Year International, the NPPA and Sony WorldPhotography Organization. Moore is a graduate ofthe University of Texas at Austin, where he studiedRadio-Television-Film. He lives with his family inStamford, Connecticut.
