Author Biography

David Cousens (introductory text, digital painting) is an award-winning illustrator, whose stylized world of illustration is dynamic, cinematic, often cheeky and positively filled with colour. David has written books teaching digital art and provided illustrations for advertising, branding, concept art, exhibitions, education, publishing, video games and television. Sharmaine Kwan (introductory text, traditional painting) is an artist from Hong Kong. She works in a range of areas, including painting, illustration, video and design. She has received many awards from international art competitions and her work has been shown in over 30 exhibitions worldwide. Tom Hovey (foreword) has applied his his unique style across a broad spectrum of genres, but he is best known for his acclaimed food illustration work, having produced the illustrated graphics for BBC One's 'The Great British Bake Off' since its inception in 2010.
