Description

Forty striking full-color plates attest to the inventive gifts of French graphic artist E. A. Seguy. Originally published in 1931, these vivid images are derived from one of the artist's final portfolios. The fanciful designs, most of them geometric patterns, are skillfully rendered in the stencil-based technique known as pochoir.

The career of French graphic artist E. A. Seguy (1890-1985) spanned both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Original portfolios of his magnificent designs are highly collectible today, and the images in this edition were rendered in striking color via the pochoir technique, a particularly demanding and labor-intensive method that employs stencils.
