Emi Kazuko is a leading cooking writer and journalist, who writes in both Japanese and English. She has written numerous books, including The Little Japanese Cookbook, Street Cafe Japan, and Easy Sushi. Yasuko Fukuoka was born in Tokyo and established herself there as a musician and composer. Nationwide concert tours in Japan provided her with the opportunity to gain an extensive knowledge of regional Japanese food.
