Meet the 'Team'. Richie and Glenice Carr are experienced and fearless travellers (not tourists!) who have the best travelling accessories in the world: their 11-year-old daughter Tayah and 12-year-old son Daenin. This is no ordinary holiday - it's a three- month perspective change, to help the kids appreciate the luck of being born in the 'lucky country', and to set them up to be global citizens and accomplished travellers. There are no soft options for the Team; no air-conditioned coaches, and definitely, No Packaged Tours. From elephants and donkeys, to 16 hours in a sardine-style mini-bus, horse drawn carts, pick-up trucks, feluccas down the Nile, and careering through a desert in the back of a 4WD, they travel the 'road less taken' through Asia, northern Africa, and the Middle East. Electrocution, baksheesh bandits, flatulent camels and napalm chicken are (mostly) all met with humour, open minds and a pun or two... the occasional kangaroo impression also helps. As Richie says: "All is fair in love, war and taxi negotiations."

Richie Carr loved three things his short life: his wife Glenice, his two children Tayah and Daenin, and travel. Sadly, Richie passed away before his book was published but his stories and spirit of adventure live on in The Un-Packaged Tour.
