Description

No more struggling against the wind to fold back the extra-large thin city map. No more flicking back and forth through the book to match the address of your hotel with its position on the map. The unique Everyman MapGuide series cleverly combines maps and text in an easy-to-use format, listing the best sights, restaurants and shops alongside fold-out maps of exceptional clarity. Each guide divides the city into 6 to 8 sections and devotes two double pages to each of them. On the first double page, the attractions of the relevant area are summarised and our favourite restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs and shops are discussed and illustrated. Sections are colour coded, and a small area map at the bottom of the page tells you where you are within the city...and within the guide. This first double page then unfolds to reveal the second with its large-scale map, where each of the must-see sights and monuments is illustrated and clearly marked on the map. A short but informative text at the bottom of the page tells you more about these unmissable attractions. There are 4 pages of useful information about the city at the front of the book, and a 4-page city-wide hotel section at the back. Plus a street index and thematic index. The Everyman MapGuides are stylish, clever, practical and, at #5.99, very good value for money.
