Author Biography

Ashley Brantley has been writing about food, travel, and culture for more than a decade. Having lived in three of Tennessee's four major cities, Brantley loves her home state - and loves writing about it. After earning an English degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and a master's in journalism from the University of Memphis, she made Nashville her home. Brantley currently lives in The Nations neighborhood with her husband (a chef who loves running, traveling and drinking whiskey) and her dog (a Pekingese who looks like a gremlin but eats like a pig). When she's not reviewing restaurants for the Nashville Scene, you can find Brantley planning her next vacation, seeing a Jason Isbell show, volunteering at Our Kids (a Nashville nonprofit that helps children affected by sexual abuse), spending time with family, or watching truly terrible reality TV.
