Description

Louise Sauvage is one of the most celebrated athletes in Australia's sporting history. A three-time Paralympian, she has dominated wheelchair racing over the past decade, claiming titles in everything from marathons to short sprints. She has won a number of medals and awards, including the 1999 Australian Female Athlete of the Year Award and an Order of Australia Medal. Now she shares her story in this autobiography.

Author Biography

Born in WA, Louise began her international dominance as far back as 1990 when at age 16 she claimed gold in the 100 metres at the World Championships in Assen. However, it is Louise's record at the Paralympic Games that speaks for itself. In the 1992 Games at Barcelona she claimed three gold and one silver, in Atlanta four years later she did one better, claiming four gold medals for Australia. And at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, Louise confirmed her status as one of the world's finest wheelchair athletes by taking gold in the 1500 and 5000 metre events. Ian Heads has covered Australian sport for 45 years as a sportswriter for newspapers and magazines, and since 1988 has been author or co-author of 38 books. He is a league specialist and is supremely qualified to assist Brad with this project.
