Author Biography

Tom Wallace spent many years as a successful, award-winning sportswriter/editor in his native Kentucky. He authored five sports-related books. He has contributed articles and columns to numerous national sports magazines, and has also done writing/editing on two national bestsellers by basketball coach Rick Pitino-Success Is A Choice and Lead To Succeed. He lives in Lexington, Kentucky. Cawood Ledford (1926-2001) was a native Kentuckian and long time sports fan. From 1953 onward he was the endearing voice and long-time radio announcer for the University of Kentucky. Best known for his basketball play-by-play style, Ledford is thought to have originated many of today's popular announcing phrases including the drawn out "slam!" and "He went to war on that one." Ledford was inducted into the University of Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987.
