Description

Author Biography
Dr Saw Leng Guan, FASc is the curator of the Penang Botanic Gardens and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. Before retiring he was the director of the Forest Biodiversity Division of the Forest Research Institute Malaysia. His research interest includes the tropical plants of Malaysia and Southeast Asia, in particular palms. He is also interested in ecology, plant conservation, plant geography and linking science to policy. He currently contributes as editor and author to the Flora of Peninsular Malaysia and Tree Flora of Sabah and Sarawak projects. In 2016, Dr Saw was awarded the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh (RBGE) Medal for his contributions towards botanical research and conservation in Malaysia.
