Description
Gemma Gene's adorable comics celebrate fur-parenthood and the extreme love you experience when you look into your dog's eyes. If you are never alone when you go to the bathroom, are forced to share your food, and find your life ruled by a sassy fur ball, Living With Mochi is the perfect book for you. When architect-turned-cartoonist Gemma Gene first met her pet pug, Mochi, she felt as if time stopped. This dramatic moment and her adoring relationship with the rambunctious pug led the architect and visual artist to begin chronicling her adventures with Mochi in a series of incredibly cute webcomics that have steadily gained a social media following of half a million loyal readers. The comics chronicle Mochi's life from puppyhood to jaded adulthood, featuring subplots of unrequited dog friendships and Mochi's jealousy of his two dog-brothers. Readers will enjoy and relate to this humorous tale of a sincerely loyal friendship between one grumpy pug and his adoring owner.
Author Biography
Gemma Gene is an architect and visual artist from Barcelona who is now based in New York. She moved to the United States to pursue a Master's Degree in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University. As soon as she graduated, she began working in the office of the prestigious architect Steven Holl, until she dedicated herself exclusively to artistic work in 2016. Her work has been exhibited in New York at the Accessible Art Fair, The Rush Arts Gallery and Figment NYC, among others, as well as in Barcelona and Madrid. The comics depicting her life with an irascible, adorable pug, Mochi, quickly found an audience of dog-lovers around the world and led to the publication of several books in Spain. Living With Mochi is her first collection of comics in English.
