Description

Simone de Beauvoir published a number of philosophical essays and novels before writing The Second Sex. The most important of these was The Ethics of Ambiguity, in which she argues that one's freedom is always intertwined with that of others. Author Biography

Kristana Arp is chair of the philosophy department of Long Island University and a founding member of the New York Society for Women in Philosophy. She has published in many journals, including Philosophy Today, International Studies in Philosophy and the APA Newsletter on Philosophy and Feminism.
