Description
"Fields of Light" is a collection of noetic prose, poems and song poems inspired by John Lambert's near-death experience at age 19. The collection is punctuated with references to mythical and mystical traditions that emphasize the transcendent in our humanness. From the I Ching to Frances Bacon, John's use of language playfully invites readers to open themselves to the goodness and beauty within and around them. "Fields of Light" is a lyrical exploration of the spirituality each of us can glimpse. Eleven of the song poems included in this book are available for listening and download on the author's website.
Author Biography
Writer, poet, philosopher, composer-- John Lambert was born in the mid 20th century in a Washington lumber town along the Ring of Fire amidst the heavily forested foothills of Mount Rainier and Mount Saint Helens (before she blew). At age 9, he began considering the primacy of art vs. science. This discussion led in part to our present tome. John has also composed over 200 pieces of music, worked as a mason and an executive chef, and at present, tends a garden, makes a mean hollandaise, and keeps meticulous records of his every homebrewing experiment.
