Description
Break free from your chocolate addiction with Jason Vale's irreverent, zany and original new book. Jason, aka The JuiceMaster, reveals the dangers of chocolate's ingredients (sugar, dairy and additives), the marketing industry's ploys to keep us all hooked and our emotional attachment to the sweet stuff- and shows you how to kick the habit. Jason Vale offers his own take on the SugarBusters and anti-dairy phenomenon, taking a pop at the food and marketing industries and showing you how to free yourself from the mental food trap by reframing your thoughts. Sugar is the cocaine of the food world, responsible for obesity, diabetes and a host of other problems. Dairy is equally bad for us and is an acid-forming food. Many people's stomachs aren't suited to break the lactose down properly and so it affects our ability to digest the nutrients from other food. This book also examines the ways in which the advertising agencies seduce us and keep us hooked, as well as examining the emotional attachments we have to chocolate, created from early childhood: 'the chocolate nanny' as Jason puts it. Jason's lively debate, full of amazing information that makes your hair stand on end, is enough to put anyone off chocolate. He looks at how we've been hooked -- and the 'con' that is confectionery.
Author Biography
Jason Vale aka The Juice Master has been described as one of the UK's leading authorities on health, addiction, and juicing. Jason used to suffer from severe asthma, eczema, hay fever, psoriasis and was also a heavy smoker and drinker. Jason also suffered from the most common of modern day conditions - obesity. After turning his life around with the help of a freshly extracted juice programme, he set out on a mission to 'Juice the World'; a mission he still firmly holds today. His books have sold over 2 million copies and have been translated into many languages. He has spent the last fifteen years working spreading his message to people from every corner of the globe, including top athletes, CEOs, major companies and many celebrities.
ReviewsEmails from readers of Slim 4 Life: 'I discovered Slim 4 Life via a display in Waterstones. The bright yellow cover and the extraordinarily healthy looking bloke pictured caught my eye. As soon as I began reading the first page I realised that here was something different. And I loved your style of writing- straight forward, humorous and really interesting. I couldn't put it down...I am slowly converting my office with my enthusiasm. Added to which they can see the improvement in my skin and weight loss (8lbs in 4 weeks- yippee!). They have all noticed as well that I am eating loads of food- certainly not starving myself like half the girls in the office! So far, 2 girls and 1 guy have bought your book- and two have already bought a juicer.' Erica Raby, Blackpool 'I've just finished reading your book Slim 4 Life. Wow!! Many, many thanks. I'm recommending it to all my friends.' Hilary Baines 'Your book has been invaluable to me and has changed my way of thinking completely. I feel enlightened and lucky to have come across you in my life journey. If you're in Harrogate sometime, maybe we could meet over a fresh cup of...juice! Thanks again bud.' Ramesh Mehay 'Thank you, thank you, thank you for your brilliant book...Even my husband, who is very much an 'eat as little fruit and veg as possible' kind of person, is reading the book and, after just a few days of cutting out the rubbish, is 'hooked' on this way of thinking and eating. Just as with 'The Good Book', I believe that every home should have a copy of Slim 4 Life.' Lynne Pritchard
