Author Biography

Margo Shapiro Bachman Margo Shapiro Bachman, MA, is a mother of two, a nationally certified Ayurvedic practitioner, and a RYT500 registered yoga teacher. She has studied and practiced Western herbal medicine, yoga, and meditation for over 20 years, and received extensive Ayurvedic training from Dr. David Frawley and Dr. Vasant Lad. Her private practice and teaching focus on women's and children's health. She lives with her husband and children in Santa Fe, New Mexico. See margoshapirobachman.com. BAMS, MA Sc Vasant Lad Lad Vasant is a native of India who has been a practitioner and professor of Ayurvedic medicine for more than 20 years. He served as Medical Director of the Ayurveda Hospital in Pune, India for three years. He also held the position of professor of clinical medicine for 12 years. Dr. Lad's academic and practical training includes the study of allopathy (Western medicine) and surgery. He is the founder and director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since 1984, he has conducted one of the first full-time programs of study on Ayurveda in the United States. Dr. Lad is the author of Ayurveda: The Science of Self-Healing.
