Author Biography
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) has a mission to enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans. It fulfills that mission by providing for effective health and human services and fostering advances in medicine, public health, and social services. The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) provides leadership for disease prevention and health promotion among Americans. ODPHP undertakes this mandate through the formulation of national health goals and objectives, the coordination of activities in disease prevention, health promotion, preventive health services, and the providing of necessary health information and education.
