A practicing child psychologist, Ava Siegler, PhD, is former director of the Institute for Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies in New York City, where she lives. She has written a monthly column on parenting forChild magazine, and is the author of What Should I Tell the Kids? and The Essential Guide to the New Adolescence. Diane Wachtell is the executive director of The New Press. Sarah Swong is a writer and editor based in New York.
