Description

Live with vitality and great health in your sixties, seventies and beyond! Find the "Missing Link" that "can help us to live our best life" in later years. Women are told by their medical professionals that they cannot take Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), the "Missing Link", later in menopause because it can cause breast cancer, heart disease and more. Younger women at the start of menopause are often told to start at the lowest doses, take it only if they cannot withstand hot flashes, or if they absolutely need it. Older women don't have a chance! They are turned away and told they cannot be helped. The author, JoAnne Tucker, writes about the aging process and what it is like to chart through all the obstacles of menopause and post-menopause. She gives solutions and sites numerous references to help women "live their best life" in later years. She has said that she lost valuable years not using HRT because of the fear of breast cancer and other disease. She also found through her research, backed by science, that HRT actually helped women to fight off disease like Alzheimer's, osteoporosis and heart disease. Numerous experts and studies are cited to support HRT in menopause and the book becomes a good reference guide. She said that she doesn't want others to suffer like she did and felt compelled to write about her experiences. The symptoms without HRT are enumerated. Hair loss, sleep problems, memory issues, painful sex, weight gain, urinary tract issues, palpitations and more were some of the many health issues she experienced. She shares the "Real Truth" about HRT in this absorbing memoir to help others get the help they need to live life to the fullest! In the later part of her book, the author speaks about the things that give her life meaning and how to create a "Chic" and healthy vibrant life. Learn how to get rid of stubborn belly fat that won't budge no matter how much you diet and exercise. Learn what happens to our skin and how to take care of sags and wrinkles. Learn how to eat for health and "Diet No More"! Learn how to exercise the minimum amount of time for maximum results. Learn how to get your "Chic" back if you've lost it along the way. JoAnne grew up in a small steel town outside of Pittsburgh. The family didn't have much, but her parents were hard working people and provided a secure and loving home for she and her three siblings. Beauty was always a part of her young life because her mother always had flower gardens, painted on canvas with oils any chance she had, and singing along with "The Lawrence Welk Show" was a weekly occurrence for the family. She was in many pageants; some she won, but all were wonderful experiences. The last one, Miss World USA, was in New York . "It was a fun and amazing experience to work with the late Bob Hope and Dick Clark. Standing at 5'10", she modeled for some of the great designers of today and some that have passed. She also studied drama and acted in commercials, tv, co-hosted and sold products on the Home Shopping Network, had a decorating/design business and owned a fitness company in the eighties. She hopes that giving some of this background helps the reader understand her lifelong passion for health and beauty and that it will help them to live a healthier and more beautiful life. She currently lives with her husband in Tampa, Florida.
