Through his twelve-year tenure with the team, Buster Posey became one of the most beloved players in Giants history, helping carry the franchise to its first World Series championship in San Francisco in 2010 and going on to win two more World Series for the Giants in 2012 and 2014. With an introduction from veteran sportswriter and San Francisco radio host Brian Murphy, along with essays from Posey's teammates, managers, coaches, opposing players, and other sports personalities, 28 tells the story of Posey's illustrious career from the heartfelt perspective of those who know him best.

Brad Mangin is a photographer who, since 1987, has captured the biggest stars in professional sports and regularly shoots for Sports Illustrated and Major League Baseball. Brian Murphy, a former sportswriter for the San Francisco Chronicle and the author of six books, is a sports radio show host for KNBR. Both reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
