Author Biography
Neeraj Bhatia is a licensed architect and urban designer from Toronto, and the founder of The Open Workshop.
Reviews"For Neeraj Bhatia, founder of San Francisco-based firm the Open Workshop, challenges like climate change, economic inequality, and political unrest offer opportunities for communities to come together and identify commonalities and differences. In determining and understanding the "collective forms" that define these systems, Bhatia hopes to promote change and resiliency in the built environment." --Architect, The journal of the American Institute of Architects "New Investigations in Collective Form has some of the most beautiful presentation drawings and renderings I've seen in a while. Documenting the work of The Open Workshop, led by Neeraj Bhatia, and accompanying a 2018 exhibition at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) in San Francisco, the book is crammed full of plans, sections, perspectives, diagrams, and other drawings." --John Hill, A Daily Dose of Architecture "The breathtaking array of drawings, photographs of models and of built works is interrupted by eight essays that take their cue from the visual materials to explore the various facets of The Open Workshop, like in art history's interpretative commentaries. It's no coincidence that the book's index is also a sort of site plan, where from above you can see plant pots and lots of people, busy exploring a little universe of fantastical visions." --ABITARE
