Description

A humorous and touching middle-grade novel about the changing shape of friendship by multiple-award-winner Meg McKinlay. Livvy and Annabel have been best friends forever. Together, they've survived kamikaze magpies, wacky mothers and a nemesis named Summer. Together, they've carried their netball team all the way to the finals. When Annabel moves away, Livvy is crushed. At her mum's insistence she embarks on a fast-track plan for moving on, for forgetting Annabel. Because what else can you do when someone's gone forever? And what can you do when, one year later, they come back? When they walk into class as if they were never even gone and sit down next to your nemesis? When it's Annabel, again, but nothing seems the same?

Reviews

I honestly love this book infinitely. I must have read it 6 times now, and I cry and smile every time. I love the start, the ending and everything in between. absolute perfection. * goodreads * Meg McKinlay had perfectly captured the nature of teenage friendships in all their glory and the feelings of the characters are very much true to life. * Bookseller+Publisher * An absorbing read for middle primary girls. * Reading Time * If you've ever had a fight with a friend (and let's face it, who hasn't?) this is the book for you. * girlpower * quite thrilling and definitely entertaining... I would recommend this book mostly to children aged 10 to 13 who like a quick read. * Alphabet Soup * a humorous, fast-paced, middle grade novel with heart. The story encapsulates the intense bonds of friendships in the pre-teen and early-teen years and the heart-aching challenges that arise when a beloved friendship changes. * Kids' Book Review *
