Description
Here are 100 ridiculously tasty recipes, created by Dan Hong, the chef behind award-winning Sydney restaurants Mr Wong, Ms G's and El Loco and rigorously taste-tested and chronicled by Melissa Leong, food writer and much-loved judge on MasterChef Australia. Expect big, bold flavours that celebrate Vietnamese, Chinese, Mexican cuisine and more; all re-imagined and re-invigorated for a new generation of food obsessives. Including handy information on kitchen equipment (which is neither complicated nor cheffy) and pantry essentials (ditto). It features Hong's smash hits across all the restaurants under his care that you'll want to cook at home. Start with wok-fried mushrooms with warrigal greens, honey-lemon chicken wings, black pepper crab, Vietnamese curry, sweet and sour lamb ribs and finish with silken-textured mango pudding.
Author Biography
Dan Hong has worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants in Australia, including Tetsuya's, Marque and Bentley. He has opened some of Sydney's most exciting dining destinations and is now Executive Chef of multiple Merivale restaurants across Sydney, including Ms G's, Sushi-E, Lotus Bistro, Queen Chow and the Cantonese powerhouse Mr Wong. Melissa Leong has culinary credentials few in Australia can match. An accomplished food and travel writer, food media consultant, radio broadcaster, television presenter, MC and cookbook editor, this first-generation Singaporean Australian isn't afraid to eat anything at least once. On television as host and judge on The Chefs' Line, and now on MasterChef Australia and MasterChef Junior, she continues to draw on that human connection to celebrate the stories of others, through the common love we all share for food.
